musicAeterna 4

Founded in 2012

The vocal quartet, one of the most mobile members of the musicAeterna family, was founded by the musicAeterna choir singers in 2012. The four soloists succeeded in breaking out of the choir repertoire and creating a separate ensemble, which has since won audiences all over the world.

The core of musicAeterna 4’s repertoire includes arrangements of folk songs (Russian, Gypsy, Greek, Tatar, Spanish, etc.), works by contemporary composers, jazz and blues songs, Broadway musicals, and film scores. Since all members know both classical and pop-jazz vocal techniques, they are confident in performing any musical style and direction.

The ensemble performs a cappella (unaccompanied).

In 2018, musicAeterna 4 and Trigolos (Perm) presented ‘Vselistvennyi moy venok’ (My motley grass wreath). Their collaboration premiered at the Festival Club of the International Diaghilev Festival. Later, it was performed with great success at major concert, museum, and festival venues, as well as at the world-famous Parisian Théâtre de la Ville and Théatre du Châtelet as part of Ilya Khrzhanovsky’s DAU project.

The vocal quartet includes:
Elena Podkasik — soprano
Alfiya Khamidullina — soprano
Elena Shestakova — mezzo-soprano
Anastasiya Gulyaeva — contralto
Elena Gurchenko — mezzo-soprano
