Details
In November, the St Petersburg Philharmonic will host the first encounter of the musicAeterna Orchestra with guest conductor Philipp Chizhevsky. The Artistic Director of the Russian State Symphony Orchestra and the State Chamber Orchestra of Russia, as well as the founder and Artistic Director of the Questa Musica ensemble, Chizhevsky will present a programme combining the works of two deeply religious composers — Lutheran Bach and Catholic Bruckner. The concert will feature Anton Bruckner’s rarely performed Symphony №3, preceded by an unfinished counterpoint from the cycle Die Kunst der Fugue by Johann Sebastian Bach, transcribed by Luciano Berio.
