Program

The Music Dimension is a project where visual arts meet music. A new series of meetings is dedicated to the exhibitions of Ivan and Mikhail Morozov brothers’ collection at the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts and Sergei Shchukin’s collection at the Hermitage.

The collectors Morozov brothers and Sergei Shchukin eagerly embraced the opportunity to travel around the world. In their trips they got acquainted with the musical life of different countries from Egypt to France, from Athens to Bayreuth. At the third lecture of the cycle, their musical routes will be explored. Svetlana Petukhova, a senior researcher at the State Institute of Art Criticism, will tell about what kind of music they could have heard on their trips, and more broadly, about the panorama of musical life of the late 19th — early 20th centuries.
