Program
The Dom Radio composer in residence Andreas Moustoukis is preparing the premiere of a composition for the choir and soloists of the musicAeterna Orchestra, which will be the result of his two-year work with the collective. On the eve of the June premiere of the opus Im Ather — a micropolyphonic work for choir, double bass, electronics, and ondes Martenot based on poems by Paul Celan and quotes from the cinema — the composer acts as an artist and presents an exhibition of the same title.
Andreas Moustoukis explains the content of the exhibition as follows: “In a way time is like the air (αιθέρας) and we are like afternoon airplanes (we have all seen them passing lonely in the blue afternoon skies) appearing from nowhere, having no idea from where to where they fly.
In a while they pass by, above us and our lives, leaving behind them a white line as a silent breath that fades out into the blue, as a linen cloth people used to shake a last farewell, with a hope to meet again, to the beloved”.
