Details
The programme of the musicAeterna concert portrays a polymath of the Renaissance, equally passionate about painting, mathematics, alchemy, theology, applied sciences and, of course, the art of love. Soloists and ensembles of various lineups accompanied by authentic instruments will perform small masterpieces of spiritual and secular music written by Josquin des Prez, Claudin de Sermisy, Nicolas Gomber, Henry VIII, John Taverner, John Dowland, and others. This tribute to Dürer, a “bouquet” of works of the High Renaissance, embodies various aspects of the artist’s figurative world: biblical motifs, allegorical compositions, realistic sketches and wondrous phantasmagoria.
