The second lecture from the cycle of meetings The Teachings of the Church Fathers with the patrologist Vadim Lurie is devoted to the Christian theology of the 2nd — considered the “darkest” — century AD. At that time, Christian thought had moved far away from the theology of the 1st century, but it had not yet used the language of Greek philosophy as confidently as it became customary in the 3rd century. The history of Christian theology of that era is poorly traced by modern scientific methods and raises more questions than answers.
Dom Radio has launched a series of meetings dedicated to Byzantine patristics with Vadim Lurie — the main expert on the early Christian writers in Russia, a leading research fellow at the Institute of Philosophy and Law of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Lectures are to be held every month.
