Program
Uzbekistan Independent and Experimental Cinema. The second day
Details
Just like in any other post-Soviet country, there have been two branches of cinema in Uzbekistan: official, studio cinema, and semi-underground, parallel, independent cinema. Following the collapse of the Soviet Union it was independent cinema that flourished in Uzbekistan, which remains virtually unknown outside the country.
A wide range of independent films from post-Soviet Uzbekistan will be presented for screenings at Dom Radio — from early film experiments to modern independent documentaries and radical video art.
The films will be presented by the curator of the programme Alexey Artamonov.
