How can you hear yourself? Is it stillness or attention to subtle changes, hidden processes, and internal dynamics? The programme of Sergej Tchirkov’s concert invites everyone to co-create — the scores of all the works provide for the direct creative contact with both the performer and the audience. The listeners have to find their own way through the labyrinth of sounds, silence, movements, rustles, and noises, and to feel their own presence in the music. The elusive beauty of Cage’s music, Klaus Lang’s poetics of perspective, which makes the listener feel like observing the life in a giant aquarium, zooming in and out of the water, the energy of the performer’s gesture in Sehyung Kim’s work — these are just some of the creators whose music is featured at this unique concert. Eva-Maria Houben’s preludes will be a guide between their creative spaces, suggesting possible routes to the listener, but not insisting on them.
Dom Radio itself will become a ’performer’: the programme is designed so that the sound of the instrument and the rustling of the audience merge into one and, complement one another, travel through the space of the lobby. As the sound bounces off the walls and pillars, it seems to gain experience that is returned to the performer and the listener.
