Registration is closed

Program

Known by many as a pianist and author of symphonic works, in his choral compositions Sergei Rachmaninoff is distinctly heard as the heir to the musical culture of the 16th century. No wonder the researchers called him “an expert on Old Russian singing.” Natalia Seryogina, Doctor of Art History, will tell the audience whether this is true and what role Byzantine and Znamenny chants play in the composer’s music scores as part of the Modern Audience Laboratory at Dom Radio.
