Details
In the first large-scale concert programme of 2023, the soloists and the musicAeterna orchestra and choir turn to the festive sacred music of Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Solemn state of mind and exultant joy set the main tonality of the compositions to be performed. Both C.P.E. Bach’s Magnificat and Mozart’s mass and motet are distinguished by the brilliant virtuosity of instrumental and vocal parts, the symbiosis of traditional church music forms and new musical content drawn from opera and concert genres.
The great classic seems to accept the legacy of the Baroque era, and musicAeterna, under the direction of a great connoisseur of historically informed performance, conductor, violinist, and countertenor Dmitry Sinkovsky, becomes not just a witness, but also an active participant in this process.
