Musicologist Daniil Petrov, associate professor at the Moscow Conservatory, will speak about the structure of Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 4, the intricacies of its ideas, and the metamorphosis of its ‘characters’ and themes while listening to a full audio recording of this monumental work.
