Teodor Currentzis is appointed the senior conductor of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre. With support from the theatre’s chief choirmaster Vyacheslav Podyelskiy, he founds the musicAeterna Ensemble orchestra and the New Siberian Singers choir, thus uniting the most talented young Siberian musicians. The first line-up of the orchestra contains 39 people, out of which 27 comprise the string section. The initial line-up of the New Siberian Singers also includes 27 people.
