The Russian premiere of Joseph Haydn’s “Orfeo ed Euridice” opera happens in memory of 200 years since the composer’s death. Concert performances of the opera in Novosibirsk and Moscow feature a constant line-up of Simone Kermes (as Euridice), musicAeterna, New Siberian Singers, Vyacheslav Podyelskiy and Teodor Currentzis.

March witnesses the start of a new chamber concert cycle called “Music For Us”, in which musicAeterna and New Siberian Singers perform baroque pieces in the darkness of the theater foyer lit only by candles. “Music For Us” will soon become one of the most acclaimed concert formats first in Novosibirsk and later in Perm.

In September, musicAeterna and Teodor Currentzis play Prokofiev’s “Symphony No.1”, Beethoven’s “Symphony No.5” and Shostakovich’s “Piano Concerto No.1” with Alexander Melnikov as the soloist.

In October, Teodor Currentzis conducts the concert in memory of Arnold Katz, where musicAeterna performs “Symphony No.5” and “Violin Concerto” by Tchaikovsky with Vadim Repin as the soloist.

In December, New Siberian Singers take part in the premiere of the “Boyarina Morozova” choir opera by Shchedrin. Vyacheslav Podyelskiy, the chief choirmaster of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, is the conductor.
